About Anthony Wheeler, MD

We proudly announced the addition of Anthony Wheeler to our pain medicine practice in September 2014. Dr. Wheeler's considerable experience in the field of pain medicine and pain management adds to our ability to provide prompt, attentive, and highly knowledgable medical care.

Dr. Wheeler's credentials include:

  • BS, University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill
  • MD, University of North Carolina School of Medicine
  • Neurology Residency, Baylor College of Medicine
  • Certified, American Board of Independent Medical Examiners (1995)
  • Diplomate, American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
  • Diplomate, American Board of Pain Management
  • Diplomate, American Board of Pain Medicine
  • Diplomate, American Board of Clinical Neurophysiology
  • Certified, Fluoroscopic Interpretation and Radiation Safety
  • Repeated Patient Choice Award

Dr. Wheeler knows what it means to be a patient with chronic pain in today's medical system. After a back injury sustained during his senior year in college, Anthony experienced an eight year odyssey of attempting pain management - much like the experience of patients before they arrive at our practice now. This personal experience led to Dr. Wheeler's passion for effectively treating chronic pain and for helping all patients improve their lives by restoring function and ability.
